What kind of place it is
La Gran Patrona calls itself "Peruvian food", and the menu means it literally: criollo classics on one side, seafood on the other, and nothing from outside the country except a few pastas that Lima adopted long ago. Every dish is described in English and Spanish, which tells you who walks in on a Miraflores afternoon.
On Tripadvisor it holds a 5.0 rating from 247 reviews and sits at #16 of 4,114 Lima restaurants, with a 2026 Travelers' Choice award (as of October 2026). Reviewers keep coming back to the lomo saltado, the ceviche and the causa.
Criollo plates
The lomo saltado is S/49. It also comes over tacu tacu (fried rice and beans) or on fettuccine in huancaína cream, both S/47. Cheaper ways in: ají de gallina at S/33, arroz con pollo and a breaded chicken milanesa at S/38 each, seco a la norteña at S/39. Bistec a lo pobre, with fried egg and banana, is S/41.
From the sea
Ceviche runs S/42–S/44: the traditional one with corn and sweet potato, or the house version in yellow chili cream. A tiradito bicolor (two sauces, ají amarillo and rocoto) is S/38. Fried things are a big part of the list, with jalea mixta at S/52 and chicharrón de calamar at S/48.
The soups are worth a look if you've only had ceviche so far. Chupe de langostinos, a creamy shrimp chowder with egg and fresh cheese, and parihuela, a concentrated seafood broth, cost S/42 each. Sudado de pescado is S/38.
If you can't decide, the Ronda "La Gran Patrona" (S/99) puts peruvian-style paella, fried shellfish, a shrimp causa, octopus in olive sauce and mixed ceviche on one platter. That's the one reviewers mention by name. Smaller combinations go from S/41 (fish ceviche with fried seafood) to S/56.
Starters and drinks
A causa is S/20 with chicken, S/24 with shrimp and S/35 with crab. Leche de tigre is S/24. A classic pisco sour costs S/20, or S/29 large; chicha morada is S/8 a glass or S/20 a pitcher.
